General information
Located on the banks of the Uksunyoki River, popular with water-tourists . There are several shops, car shops come from Loymola and Suojärvi . There is a kindergarten and a school in which about 100 children study. The population of the village is mainly provided by the Zapkarelles enterprise, a railway and a stone quarry.
The A131 Pitkäranta - Suojärvi highway runs 7 km from the village.
In the village there is a historical monument - the grave of an unknown Soviet pilot who died during the Soviet-Finnish War (1941-1944) [2] .
