Australian mangrove snake [1] ( lat. Myron richardsonii ) is a species of snake from the subfamily of freshwater snakes . A specific Latin name is given in honor of the Scottish naturalist John Richardson (1787-1865).

Dimensions no more than 40-60 cm. Transverse stripes or irregular spots are located along the main gray or reddish-brown background, however, the head is covered with large shields of the correct shape. Keels have only dorsal scales.
It inhabits the coastal areas of the islands of Aru, New Guinea and northern Australia.
