Spreading bell - a herbaceous biennial plant, reaches a height of 50-70 cm. The stem is erect. Leaves - narrow-lanceolate, dark green, shiny.
Flowers - blue-violet, sometimes white, large, reach up to 3 cm in length, collected in loose inflorescences. The fruit is a multi-seeded box.
The bell is spreading - the official flower emblem of the Swedish province of Dalarna [2] .
