Career

Nihat is a graduate of the Besiktas football club. He was noticed by the club’s head coach when he played in the youth team in the 1996-1997 season. The Turkish striker joined the main team of Besiktas in 1997, where he proved to be a great player. Besiktas has won the national championship many times and even won the Turkish Cup. In January 2002, Nihat joined the Spanish club Real Sociedad . In the 2002-2003 season, Nihat became the second among the Spanish scorers Examples, scoring 23 goals. Only Roy Mackay was ahead of him. Nihat made a good impression on the field, along with striker Darko Kovachevich , so sports journalist Phil Bol called this pair of strikers “tall and short” because of the difference in height (Nihat’s height is 175 cm and Kovachevich’s is 187 cm). January 17, 2012 announced his retirement due to lack of gaming practice. The 32-year-old striker has been left without playing practice since the contract with Besiktas was terminated.
