Eino Ilmari Juutilainen ( fin. Eino Ilmari Juutilainen ; February 21, 1914 , Lieksa , Grand Duchy of Finland , Russian Empire [1] , - February 21, 1999 , Tuusula , Finland ) - Finnish military pilot recognized as the most effective A fighter pilot in the air forces of all countries participating in World War II , with the exception of Germany , shot down 94 Soviet aircraft in 1939-1944, two of which during the Soviet-Finnish war . It is also the most productive pilot among those who flew the Brewster F2A Buffalo - 35 victories.

Biography
Born in the family of a railway worker. Later, the family moved to Sortavala , where Ilmari became a member of the local maritime club and participated in trips around Lake Ladoga . After reading the book of the best German ace of the First World War, Baron Manfred von Richthofen , Ilmari also decided to become a pilot. In the summer of 1932 he was called up for active military service and, as an assistant mechanic, was sent to the 1st separate squadron of seaplanes . In 1933 he entered the Karkhumyaki Brothers Aviation School and was able to obtain a license for a private plane pilot.
In 1936 he managed to get directions to the Finnish Aviation Aviation School ( Fin. Ilmasotkoulu , abbr. ISK), located at the airport Kauhava (Kauhava), near the town of Lapua .
On May 1, 1937, Yuutilaynen, with the rank of sergeant, arrived at As5, located at Suur-Merijoki airfield, a few kilometers west of Vyborg . Initially, he flew a reconnaissance aircraft, then in 1938 he was sent to the Utti airfield, where he was trained as a fighter pilot for several months.
Soviet-Finnish War (1939–1940)
Sergeant Jutilainen won his first air victory on December 19, 1939 , shooting down a FR-106 bomber on the Karelian Isthmus on the Fokker. December 31, in a battle over the northern shore of Lake Ladoga, he shot down an I-16 . On the same day, Yuutilaynen was promoted to the rank of senior sergeant , and twenty days later, on January 25, 1940, he was promoted to senior officer . March 1, 1941 Yuutilaynenu was awarded the rank of ensign .
He is one of four Finns, twice awarded the cross of Mannerheim Class II (and the only one among them without an officer’s rank).
Since 1947, retired, he worked as a private pilot.
