Geography
Kara-Suu is located 18 km north of the city of Osh. The distance by road to the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek - 650 km, to the nearest airport in Osh - 15 km.
The Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in the area of the city passes mostly along the channel separating Kara-Suu from the Uzbek town of Karasu .
Earlier, the inter-regional transport highway Osh - ( Sovetabad ) - Jalal-Abad - Bishkek (now this message is bypassing Uzbek territory through Uzgen ) passed through the city of Kara-Suu. The railway Jalal-Abad - Andijan ( Uzbekistan ) operates.

Economics
The basis of the city’s economy at present is the Kara-Suu wholesale and retail market, serving customers throughout southern Kyrgyzstan and adjacent regions of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The main deliveries of goods to the market go directly from China, there is also trade with the market Dorda from Bishkek . In addition to local merchants, citizens of China and Uzbekistan also work in the market.
Industrial enterprises operate in the city, although the output of their products is insignificant, and is mainly aimed at serving local needs:

The city has 3 kindergartens, 10 secondary schools, 1 boarding school and 1 music school. Adult literacy rate is 97%.
The population with higher and incomplete higher education is 15.2%, and with secondary specialized education - 20% of the working-age population of the city .
Sport (soccer)
The football club Zhashtyk-Ak-Altyn is based in the city - the champion of Kyrgyzstan in 2003, a 2-time silver medalist (2001 and 2002) and a 5-time bronze medalist (1999, 2004-2007).
The club reached the final of the Cup of Kyrgyzstan 7 times (2001-2006 and 2008) and conceded all 7 times: first three times in a row - SKA-PVO and four more times - “ Dordoi-Dynamo ”. He currently plays in one of the zones of the Second League.
