Name Origin

The original name Prosvirnin Pereulok (which arose in the 18th century and existed until the beginning of the 20th century [1] ) is associated with the house of the prosvirni , a woman who baked pastries for the Church of the Savior in Pushkary, prosvir (prosfor), a special loaf of white bread used in the Orthodox Church worship services [2] . The Church of the Savior in Pushkarya [3] was (demolished in 1935) on the site of a school building (the corner of Sretenka with Prosvirin Lane).
