Volsky Turman is a relict type of pigeon of an old Russian breed. His homeland is the city of Volsk on the banks of the Volga above Saratov . It also has a second name (Ukrainian) - “chumak”.
This is a dove of a strong constitution with a wide chest and a thick neck. A round head without a forelock, a beak of medium length, strong, dark red in color. The eyes are silver white and the eyelids are dark red. The plumage is resinous and white feathers are scattered on the body, which makes the chumak amazingly original. He is an excellent flyer, able to survive in flight for 6-8 hours at high altitude, is undemanding to the conditions of detention, feeds pigeons well, but is not numerous even in his region. Due to its appearance, Chumak can serve as an excellent exhibit in any collection of pigeons.
