Andrei Nikolaevich Gorokhov (b. June 25, 1961 , Moscow ) [1] - Russian music critic , journalist , writer , artist [2] . The author of the radio programs “Muzprosvet” and “Album of the Week” on the radio “ Deutsche Welle ”, books “Muzprosvet” ( 2001 , 2003 , 2010 ) and “ A Hole Covered with Gloss ” ( 2006 ).

Andrei Gorokhov graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University with a degree in systems programmer . In 1991, he moved to Cologne , where he tried to engage in conceptual art , photography , worked at a brewery and guarded the local television tower . In 1996, he got a job as a music journalist at the Deutsche Welle radio station [3] . In 2004, in collaboration with the philosopher Vasily Shevtsov, he created the Kulebaki project [4] . Also leads teaching activities [5] .
In 2012-2013, Andrei Gorokhov collaborated with the Isolation Art Foundation in Donetsk.
Muzprosvet
“Muzprosvet” is the name of a book published by Gorokhov in 2001 (reprinted with significant changes in 2003 and 2010 ). It has developed over many years materials of the same name radio broadcasts are used to summarize knowledge of modern music, especially popular . This is probably the largest attempt to develop a classification for modern musical genres and styles ( minimalism , new age , techno , ambient , etc.) in Russian. The book received a large number of reviews containing various ratings, ranging from enthusiasm [6] to complete rejection [7] .
