Group History

Edge of Sanity was founded in November 1989 by Dan Swanne, Andreas Axelsson, Sami Nerberg and Benny Larsson, who were soon joined by Anders Lindbergh. The group made several demos and signed a contract with Black Mark Productions , and in 1991 released their debut album “Nothing But Death Remains” [2] [3] .

Following the release of their first album, the band made a demo of "Dead but Dreaming", and in 1992 recorded their second album, "Unorthodox". A video clip was recorded on the song “When all is Said” [2] . In 1993, the third album, The Spectral Sorrows, was released, followed by Purgatory Afterglow in 1994, Crimson in 1996, and Infernal in 1997 [1] .

In the fall of 1997, Svanyo left the band and his place was taken by vocalist Robben Karlssen. In the new line-up, the group released the album "Cryptic" and in 2000 the compilation "Evolution" [1] was released . Shortly after the release of the album, the group ceased to exist [2] .

In 2003, Dan Swanyo resumed Edge of Sanity with session musicians to record the only Crimson II album [2] . The new roster includes Mike Vid from King Diamond , Rogga Johansson from Paganizer, Jonas Granvik from Without Grief, and Simon Johansson from Memory Garden [3] .
