Flag History
The colors of the flag coincide with the Pan-Slavic . It was officially adopted by Slovenian patriots in 1848 [1] , whom the colors of the flag of Russia pushed an order of colors [2] . The flag was associated with Slovenia and during its stay as part of Yugoslavia . In 1945, a red star was placed on the flag of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia . After independence, the star was removed from the flag, and the new flag was officially adopted on June 27, 1991 and raised a day earlier at Republic Square in Ljubljana.
Flag Swap
In 2003, a campaign was launched, the purpose of which is to change the design of the Slovenian flag to a new one, in connection with the similarity with the flag of Russia and the flag of Slovakia . However, in Slovenia there is no consensus on the change of the flag.
