Catacombs (2007 film)

A young American woman named Victoria, having psychological problems and taking antidepressants , arrives in Paris at the invitation of her sister Carolyn. Carolyn invites her to a party in the Paris catacombs , which, according to her, are a huge mass grave: 200 million years ago, several million dead were buried here. At a party in the dungeon, where dozens of people gathered, Jean Michelle told her a terrible story about a man in a catacomb living in a goat mask, who was raised by a Satanic sect.

Looking up from the group, Carolyn and Victoria became entangled in the corridor, suddenly someone attacks them in the dark. Turning on the flashlight, Victoria sees her sister with her throat cut and a man in the mask of a goat, who begins to chase after her. With great difficulty, she gets to the place of fun, at which point a police raid begins. Victoria loses consciousness, having regained consciousness, she discovers that she was left completely alone. Wandering in the maze, she meets Henry, another lost party visitor. Drunk Henry falls into the pit and breaks his leg, after unsuccessful attempts to pull a fellow traveler, Victoria leaves him in the dark. However, when she returned, Henry who got out, deciding that Victoria had left him to die, begins to strangle her, and she had to stun him with a flashlight.

Further wanderings around the catacombs lead Victoria to the fact that someone again begins to chase her. Hiding around the corner, she hits the pursuer with a pickaxe. A few minutes later, Carolyn and her friends appear, explaining that it was a joke: a man in a goat mask was one of them, but because of a police raid, they lost Victoria. The company notices the man whom Victoria dealt a mortal blow, it turned out to be Jean Michel. Carolyn begins to scold her sister, bringing her to hysteria, during which Victoria kills everyone present. Having climbed to the surface, Victoria gets in a taxi and leaves for the airport.

Filming took place in Romania ^[1] . In 2007, the film was released in cinemas in Italy, Latvia, Russia (where it raised about $ 381 thousand) and a number of other countries ^[2] . In the USA, the film premiered in October 2007 on the Fearnet video-on-demand service owned by Comcast , Sony Pictures TV and Lionsgate. The film was also available to FEARnet.com users ^[3] . In February 2008, there was a DVD release on the American market ^[4] .
