Biography

Eleanor Petrovna Shashkova was born December 24, 1937 in Batumi, in the family of a border guard. Contrary to the will of her father, who categorically objected to the acting future daughter [2] , she graduated from the B. Shchukin Theater School . Since 1963 he has been playing at the Vakhtangov Theater . Since 1961, she began acting in films, making her debut in the film "Two Lives." Then there were a few more small films.

The most famous role of Eleanor Shashkova was the episodic role of the wife of Shtirlits Alexandra Nikolaevna Gavrilina in the television series Tatyana Lioznova " Seventeen Moments of Spring ."

When she came to the test, Lioznova offered to make a haircut. The next day the shooting of the episode was to take place. Shashkova asked Lioznova to give her a script to read, think, prepare at night, but she said: “Don’t think about anything, just come.” The actress came and began to fulfill the director’s commands. Vyacheslav Tikhonov had the first day off for six months that day, but Shashkova could not play without a partner, she wanted to see the eyes of her “husband”. And suddenly Tikhonov appeared on the site: he was curious how his “wife” looked. He came to shoot and sat near the camera. Shashkova played a role, and the next day they were supposed to shoot Vyacheslav Vasilyevich, but he said that without a “wife” he would not succeed. A car was sent for her [3] .

Fame for Eleanor Petrovna Shashkova came after the release of the film, but she was rarely recognized. Despite the fact that Shashkova played dozens of roles in the Vakhtangov Theater , for many viewers she still remains primarily the “wife of Stirlitz” [3] [4] .

On the 65th anniversary of Shashkov congratulated the Foreign Intelligence Service . The representative of the Service called the actress "a model of the wife of a scout" [5] .

The role of Shtirlitsa’s wife echoes the role of Tuliev-Zarokov-Kurnakov’s wife in the tetralogy “Resident Error” - “Resident Fate” - “Resident Return” - “End of Resident Operation”.

The actress was married twice. First husband - Ernst Zorin , actor, Honored Artist of Russia. Met at the Vakhtangov Theater. Later he went to live in Germany and the USA. In the marriage, Antonina's daughter was born - Shashkova named her in memory of her mother. Antonina Zorina is married, has two sons - David and George.
The second husband is Valentin Ivanovich Selivanov (1938-1998), director. They met on the set of Carlos Espinola’s Diary.
