Opera link

Opera Link is a service that allows you to synchronize data between devices on which the Opera browser (starting from version 9.5), Opera Mini (starting from version 4) and Opera Mobile (starting from version 10 beta 2) are installed. The synchronization process is automatic. After authorization in the system, data from the user is sent to the Opera Software server using the TLS protocol . You can synchronize bookmarks , Speed ​​Dial , Notes, information from the Personal panel, a list of search engines , a list of entered addresses in the address bar and passwords (starting from version 11.50). With the smooth operation of the service, synchronization occurs with every change. On mobile browsers, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile synchronize Speed ​​Dial, bookmarks, notes and a list of search engines.

History

For the first time, Opera Link technology was officially introduced on September 7, 2007 in one of the pre-alpha builds of Opera 9.5 [2] . October 25, 2007 in Opera 9.5 beta 1 it became possible to synchronize data not only between Opera Desktop, but also between the desktop version of the browser and between the Opera Mini 4 beta mobile browser [3] . On August 22, 2008, the first snapshot of the Opera 9.6 browser was released, which made it possible to synchronize the list of search engines and the contents of the address bar [4] . On November 27, 2008, it became possible to automatically delete duplicate bookmarks from the server after clicking the corresponding button on the Opera Link website [2] . On December 2, 2009, a test assembly of Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 with support for Opera Link was released [5] .

With the release of the test build Opera 11.50 Swordfish on May 3, 2011, password synchronization became possible [6] .
