Uyfalushi, Tomas

Tomáš Uyfalushi ( Czech Tomáš Ujfaluši , Hungarian. Újfalusi Tamás ;; March 24, 1978, Rymarzov , Czechoslovakia ) - Czech footballer of Hungarian descent. He usually played in the national team as a central defender, in Fiorentina he played under the leadership of Cesare Prandelli on the right flank of the defense.

Career

Club

In 2008, Uyfalushi signed a contract with Atletico Madrid , which entered into force on July 1. Uyfalushi played more matches for Fiorentina , his previous club, than 123 for any other in his career (despite the fact that he spent the same number of seasons in Sigma , Hamburg , and Fiorentina - by 4). On June 20, 2011, the player signed a contract with the Turkish club Galatasaray for a period of 2 years [1] .

International

As part of the Czech youth team, he participated in the 2000 European U-21 Championship (where his team reached the final) and the Olympics of the same year.

Uyfalushi made his debut in the Czech national team on February 28, 2001 in a friendly game against Macedonia (1: 1). He participated in two European Championships ( 2004 and 2008 ) and one World Championship ( 2006 ). Recently, Uyfalushi was the captain of the Czech team [2] , but on April 8, 2009 announced the completion of a career in the team [3] .
