Alexander Kononovich Safonov ( 1875 , Yaroslavl - September 27, 1919 , Moscow ) is an active participant in the formation of Soviet power in Lipetsk . Member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the 12th Army. Party name Ephraim.

Biography

Born in 1875 in the village of Frolovskoe, Galich district, Kostroma province. A 13-year-old boy was brought to Moscow and given up as a painter. He worked at the carriage factory, in the Moscow and Riga wagon workshops. Being engaged in self-education passed, the exam for the title of home teacher.

Member of the Bolshevik Party since 1904 . He took an active part in the revolutionary events of 1905 in Yaroslavl , for which he was arrested, and then exiled for two years to the Arkhangelsk province . He fled to St. Petersburg (after four arrests under different names) moved to Moscow. Where he became one of the organizers of the District Committee of the Bolsheviks .

After the failure in 1908, the Moscow district party organization was sentenced in 1910 at the process of “Safonov and 33” to four years in prison . After the February Revolution he returned to Moscow.

Delegate of the 6th Congress of the RSDLP (b) . As an instructor and agitator of the Moscow Regional Party Committee, he organized party and Soviet work in the Ryazan and Tambov provinces.

In November 1917, the Moscow bureau of the Bolshevik Party, AK K. Safonov, was sent to Lipetsk, where he played an important role in rallying the forces behind the transfer of all power to the Soviets of working, soldier and peasant deputies . In April 1919 - a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the 2nd Army of the Eastern Front.

After the complete defeat of Kolchak - a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the 12th Army of the Southern Front. During the Denikin offensive he was appointed a member of the Defense Council of the Tambov fortified area .

Driving there through Moscow on the evening of September 25, 1919, I went to the city committee of the party (to see acquaintances) 5 minutes before the explosion in the building of the Moscow Committee of the RCP (b) in Leontievsky Pereulok . He was mortally wounded. He was buried in a mass grave of victims of the explosion near the Kremlin wall .

Memory

  1. On the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution , a monument-obelisk was unveiled on Revolution Square in Lipetsk , next to which on a curved stele a bas-relief image of the faces of those who took an active part in the establishment of Soviet power in Lipetsk. At the end of the stele inscribed their names, including A. K. Safonov.
  2. October 27, 1967 New Street in Lipetsk received the name of Safonov .
