Biography

Club career

A pupil of the Ajax football school, began his professional career in 1994 in the Volendam club, in 1995 he moved to Roda , and in 1997 in PSV , in which he subsequently became the Dutch champion 5 times, won the Netherlands Cup and participated in the Champions League . On August 23, 2006, he transferred to Blackburn Rovers , who paid a sum of £ 2 million for his transfer. He signed a two-year contract with the new club with the possibility of extension for another year. He made his debut with Blackburn on August 27, 2006 in a match against Chelsea . In 2009, he returned to PSV, and after one season, he signed a one-year contract with the Ajax Amsterdam [1] [2] . As part of the club, Andre twice became the champion of the country, and on May 6, 2012 spent his last match in his career [3] [4] . It is noteworthy that Oyer scored a goal in the last match, thereby setting a new Eredivisi record as the oldest player to score a goal (37 years and 300 days); earlier record belonged to Arnold Muren [5] .

Netherlands national team

He played for the Dutch national team since 1998 , participated in the 1998 World Cup . At the 2000 European Championships he was not included in the team in the final tournament. He participated in the qualifying matches for the 2004 European Championship , but was not included in the composition in the final tournament .

In the final part of the 2006 World Cup, he played 4 matches. Member of the 2008 European Championship . In the quarterfinal with the Russian team, he directly participated in all three episodes when the Russians scored goals against the Dutch. First, the 33-year-old Oyer unsuccessfully knocked the ball into the center of the field, after which the first goal attack of the Russians began. In extra time, Andre could not prevent Andrei Arshavin from making a cross over Dmitry Torbinsky , who scored the second goal. And finally, it was from Oyer that Arshavin left for the Dutch in the penalty box when he scored the third goal. Oyer did not leave the national team after Euro 2008 and continued his performances for the national team under the guidance of a new coach. He ended his career in the national team after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , where the Dutch won silver (Oyer played only 1 match in the tournament).
