Biography
Mikhail Voinov was born on April 11, 1974 in Moscow. After school, he studied at the Moscow College of Fine Arts with a degree in "architect", then received a liberal arts education at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University . He took his first musical steps at school and college, performed with his own rock bands in the styles of glam rock and post-punk at student parties.
Oak Gaai
In 1991, Mikhail met future members of the Dubovy Gaai band, the first songs were born and recorded. In the same period there is a recording of the song of the group “Bachelor Party” “Dances”, in which Mikhail writes the part of the guitar. This record becomes the first commercial musical work.
In 1992, Michael became a member of Alien Pat.Holman. Participates in experimental studio and concert activities.
Between the summer of 1992 and the fall of 1993, Oak Gaia’s compositions are recorded, which will subsequently be included in Stop Killing Dolphins and Blue Lyrics No. 2 .
Misha Dolphins
In the fall of 1993, he recorded several songs with Dolphin, which served as the beginning for the project “Dolphins Mishas”. Later, these 4 compositions were included in the albums of Oak Gaia.
In 1995, Mikhail Voinov and Andrei Lysikov gave one live concert (the only one in the history of the Misha Dolphins project) at the Tatu Convention Convention in the Hermitage. The concert performed songs from the first album of “Mishin Dolphins”. This material was not published and remained in the form of demos. Some of the texts were subsequently used by Dolphin in a solo project.
From the fall of 1994 to the fall of 1995, the album "The Hangover" "Skittles" was recorded. Warriors takes part in recording the music of the record: in 9 of 12 songs, his guitar parts are played.
In the summer of 1996, Misha and Dolphin recorded the record "Toys", in the recording of which Ruslan Akhmerov, Ivan Chernikov and Anastasia Sitnikova took part. The album of the creative duet “Misha Dolphins” “Toys” was published in 1997 by Elias. At the same time, Dolphin begins to write his first solo disc, "Out of Focus", the work on which was the last in the history of the joint work of Andrei Lysikov and Mikhail Voinov.
In the fall of 1996, Dan, Mutabor and Muscle (the nickname of Mikhail Voinov as part of a new project) began work on the Barbitura project. The first album "Barbitura" "Planet Rock" is released in the fall of 1997. The compositions from Planet Rock have been kept in the top three of the most popular tracks of the Station 106.8 FM radio for six months and are released in all significant collections of Russian dance music.
"Barbitura" tours the country, performs at the largest raves in Russia.
In 1997, Mikhail Voinov participated in the recording of Mutabor's solo album "Mutation."
The second album "Barbitura" "Figures", recorded in 1998 , is published in 1999 .
Mutabor leaves for a year in the United States, Warriors and Dan periodically arrange live musical performances on the Station radio live and in clubs.
Second Hand Band
1998 is the beginning of a new project. Second Hand Band - originally a duet of Nikolai Anokhin and Mikhail Voinov. At the studio "Barbitura" recorded the first album of 4 tracks (EP). This material is published on the American independent label Monoscript Records, the producer of the release is James McCulty, and Mikhail Voinov is the executive producer of this and the subsequent LP. The Second Hand Band duet performs mainly in Moscow clubs, participates in performances and exhibitions of designers, literary readings of young poets, creating a musical component. In 1999, a third member, Igor Botsman Gotsmanov, appeared in the group. The Drops album, which also comes out on Monoscript Records, is being recorded. The group begins to invite to major music festivals.
In 2002, material was recorded for the Smart Evolution album, released by Solaris Records in 2003 in Germany. In the same year, Mikhail Voinov left the Second Hand Band and went on a free swim: engaged in promotion activities, held dance parties, wrote music for the animated television series Dyatlow`s (REN-TV channel), performed under the pseudonyms DJ Myshz and DJ Voinov.
Cosmonaut & Satellites / Cosmonaut and Satellites (ex-Radio)
In the fall of 2003, he became a member of the Radiotrans group (Ed. Cosmonaut Gubin, Olesya Moiseenkova, Mikhail Voinov). New material is being recorded, active touring begins. By 2006, they were producing enough new material for a new program with a completely new sound. The name of the Radiotrans collective is becoming obsolete, and on April 8, 2006, on the eve of Cosmonautics Day, Cosmonaut, Warriors and Olesya present their new project Cosmonaut & Satellites (Cosmonaut and Satellites).
The action takes place at the event of Vladimir Fonarev "Baikonur", which took place in the club "Gaudi-Arena" in Moscow . The band can be seen with a live concert performance, as well as with DJ sets DJ Cosmonaut, DJ Alissa Sputnik, DJ Voinov .
Also in 2002, Mikhail Voinov took part in recording the album “Bachelor Party” “Foam”, recorded guitar parts for several remixes of DJ Gruv and performed with him in several concerts, since 2006 he has been participating in a solo project by Ivan Chernikov (ex- “Oak Gaai” ) "E-Van".
From 2006 to 2009, Mikhail Voinov also engaged in the production of a number of television projects as an executive and linear producer.
Since 2009, he has been directing and producing video and multimedia projects under the Michael Voinov Multimedia Production label.
He continues to participate in the Cosmonaut & Satellites and E-Van projects.
