Verbilovo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Elninsky district . The population is 30 inhabitants (2007). It is located in the south-eastern part of the region 24 km south-west of the town of Yelnya , 11 km west of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway. It is part of the Malyshevsky rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was the site of fierce fighting and was twice occupied by Nazi troops. The first time in July 1941 (released during the Yelninsk operation ), the second time in October 1941 (released during the Yelninsk-Dorogobuzh operation in 1943 ) [1] [2] [3] .
