Holbni is a village in the Elninsky district of the Smolensk region of Russia . The population is 3 inhabitants (2007) [1] It is located in the south-eastern part of the region 20 km east of the city of Yelnya , 13 km north-west of the border with the Kaluga region , on the right bank of the Ugra River. 7.5 km south of the village is the Korobets railway station on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line . It is part of the Mazovskoye rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was the site of fierce fighting and was twice occupied by Nazi troops. The first time in July 1941 (was released during the Yelninskaya operation ). The second time in October 1941 (liberated by the 68th army during the Yelninsky-Dorogobuzh operation in 1943 ). [2] [3] , [4] .
