Buinsky district ( Tat. Bois districts ) is an administrative-territorial unit and a municipality ( municipal district ) within the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation . Located in the southwest of the region .

The administrative center is the city of Buinsk .
Geography
It borders on the north with Apastovsky , in the east with Tetyushsky , in the southwest with the Drozhzhanovsky districts of the republic, in the south with the Ulyanovsk region ( Tsilninsky district ), in the west with the republic of Chuvashia ( Yalchiksky , Batyrevsky , Shemurshinsky districts).
The climate is temperate continental . The territory of the district is located on the border of the forest-steppe and steppe zones. Forests in the area occupy 9681 hectares.
The largest river is Sviyaga . Other large rivers (its tributaries) with a total length of more than 50 km: Bula , Karla , Ulema , Tsilna with a tributary of Malaya Tsilna .
History
Until 1920 , part of the district was part of the Buinsky district of Simbirsk province .
The area was formed on August 10, 1930 .
In 1959, part of the abolished Tsilninsky district became part of the district. February 1, 1963 - Drozhzhanovsky , Kaybitsky and part of the Apastovsky district.

Economics
The area is predominantly agricultural. The main cultivated crops are sugar beets , spring and winter wheat, rye, barley, and peas.
Transport
The main roads of the district are R-241 Kazan -Buinsk- Ulyanovsk , 16K-0622 Buinsk- Tetyushi , 16K-0623 Buinsk- Yalchiki .
The Sviyazhsk -Buinsk-Ulyanovsk railway passes through the district. Stations and stopping points in the area (from Kazan): 95 km (r.p.) , Laschi (junction) , Bois (art.) , Byrgany (junction) .
Culture
There are 97 cultural institutions in the Buinsky district, of which 55 rural cultural houses, 36 libraries.
Since 2000, the Bua Dulkannary TV and Radio Company has been operating in the region , which has its own frequency. The Bayrak regional newspaper is published in three languages: Tatar , Russian and Chuvash .
There are 32 schools in the district, 6 of them in the city, 41 preschool educational institutions, including 12 in the city.
