Botev (until 1950, Yumruchchal [2] ) - a mountain in Bulgaria , the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains (2376 m). The mountain slopes are steep, the top is flat, covered with meadows. The mountain is located in the community of Karlovo in the Plovdiv region .

The mountain is named after the Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev , and until 1950 this peak was called Yumrukchal - “fist - mountain” (Bulgarian. Yumruk - “fist”, chal - “high mountain peak”).
At the top of the mountain is a weather station .
The northern slope of the mountain, called Paradise Rocks, is popular among climbers .
