Dobrich region ( Bulgaria. Region Dobrich ) is an area in the North-East region of Bulgaria . The region covers an area of 4,719.7 km², which is home to 189,677 inhabitants (2011). The administrative center is the city of Dobrich (formerly called Tolbukhin ).

In the east, the region borders on the Black Sea , in the north with Romania , in the south - with the regions of Varna and Shumen , in the west with the Silistra region .
