Kokkoloba berry-bearing , or Sea grapes ( lat.Coccoloba uvifera ), is a species of small evergreen trees from the genus Kokkoloba of the Buckwheat family, growing in the coastal regions of tropical America, in the coastal zone of the Caribbean Sea , including in Florida and Bermuda .

The maximum height of the plant is 8 m, but most often it is slightly more than 2 m. The leaves are round-oval or broad-ovate, 10-12 cm long, 15-20 cm wide, whole-edge, dense, almost leathery, glossy. The upper side is light or dark green, the veins of the young leaves are reddish, the old veins are creamy, the lower side is green. The bark is smooth yellowish.
The flowers are small, fragrant , cream, collected in drooping long brushes . The fruits are round, 2 cm in diameter, with a ligneous, purple skin, under which there is a thin layer of pulp of sweet nutmeg taste surrounding a large seed . Fruits hang on the hands like a bunch of grapes, and fall off as they ripen. Used fresh and used to make jelly .
