Biography
In 1960, in Yalta , the film " Goodbye Doves " was filmed. The director of the film, Yakov Segel, could not find the actress for the main role of a simple girl. They started shooting without her, and Segel went to Sevastopol in search of nature. The director had a headache, he went to the pharmacy and there, behind the counter, he saw young Savelov, who had just graduated from school a year ago. She did not have acting experience, but that was exactly what arranged the director [2] . So Savyolova got into the cinema and immediately became famous. Together with her in the film starred a young actor Alexei Loktev .
After a successful film debut, Savyolova (who had previously dreamed of entering a medical institute) became a student of the Shchukin Theater School . After graduating from college in 1965 she entered the Theater named after E. B. Vakhtangov . From 1966 until the end of her life, she worked at the Leninsky Komsomol Moscow State Theater (Lenkom) . In the second half of the 1960s, she starred in a number of passing films, including a film story based on the early stories of Maxim Gorky “ In Russia ” (1968), where she again performed in a duet with Alexei Loktev. The most famous screen role of Savelova - “novice trainer” Lena Velichko in the popular comedy by Eugene Karelov “ Seven Old Men and One Girl ” (1968) - was the actress’s last movie work.
Personal life
As a student, Svetlana Savelova married a fellow student Gennady Baysak, but the marriage quickly broke up. Subsequently, there were novels with Alexander Zbruev , Nikolai Karachentsov , Sergei Milovanov. Under the influence of Milovanov, she became addicted to alcohol. Dependence worsened after a car accident that disfigured the actress's appearance. The last husband Savyolova was a police officer.
Due to unsettled life and alcohol abuse, the actress missed rehearsals. Zakharov repeatedly talked with Savelova, but gradually she had fewer and fewer roles in the theater. The actress’s last theatrical work was the role in the extras of the play “The Sage”.
In the 1990s, Svetlana Savelova disappeared not only from the stage, but from her circle of friends. In extreme need, the actress changed her apartment in the center of Moscow and went to the outskirts. In the theater, she appeared only for her meager salary. People who knew Savyolova noted that she was kind, caring and extremely lonely.
Svetlana Ivanovna Savelova suddenly died on January 30, 1999. They found her only on the third day after death, the cause of which was never found out. Dust of Savyolova was buried in the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery (Columbarium 9, section 6, niche 303) [3] . At the funeral, only the theater staff were present. The dress on the actress was put on from the props, since she did not have normal clothes left.
