U-191 is a German IXC / 40 type submarine from World War II . The order for the construction of the submarine was given on November 4, 1940 . The boat was laid at the shipyard of the AG Weser shipbuilding company in Bremen on November 2, 1941 under building number 1037, launched on July 3, 1942, and on October 20, 1942, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Helmut Fin, it became part of the 4th Training Flotilla . April 1, 1943 became part of the 2nd Flotilla . The boat made one combat campaign, sinking one ship (3,025 gross ). On April 23, 1943, the boat was sunk southeast of Cape Fairwell , Greenland , in an area with coordinates deep bombs from the British destroyer HMS Hesperus (H57) . All 55 crew members were killed.
