U-186 is a German IXC / 40 type submarine from World War II . The order for the construction of the submarine was given on August 15, 1940 . The boat was laid at the shipyard of the AG Weser shipbuilding company in Bremen on July 24, 1941 under building number 1026, launched on March 11, 1942, and on July 10, 1942, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Siegfried Gesemann, it became part of the 4th Training Flotilla . January 1, 1943 became part of the 10th flotilla . The boat made 2 military campaigns, sinking 3 ships (18,782 gross ). On May 12, 1943, the boat was sunk north of the Azores in the area with coordinates deep bombs from the British destroyer HMS Hesperus (H57) . All 53 crew members were killed.
