Osteochondropathy

Osteochondropathy [1] (from other Greek: ὀστέον - bone , χόνδρος - cartilage , πάθος - suffering) - aseptic necrosis of the trabecular bone, which proceeds chronically and gives complications in the form of microfractures. Osteochondropathies are a consequence of local circulatory disorders resulting from exposure to various factors: congenital, metabolic, traumatic, etc.

Osteochondropathy is a very dangerous disease, since it is almost impossible to detect in the early stages, and the consequences can be very deplorable.

The weakening of the structure of the bone skeleton can lead to the fact that the bone breaks not only under external influence, but also under the influence of the severity of its own body, due to muscle cramps and even simple muscle strain.

Cases from practice:

  • the patient with osteochondropathy did not know about his disease and continued to do gymnastics. During the “handstand” exercise, he broke both of his elbow joints (Kiev, 2003);
  • a patient with osteochondropathy at the time of vomiting received a closed fracture of three ribs (Tbilisi, 1999);
  • a patient with osteochondropathy in a dream due to muscle spasm crushed his elbow joint (Chisinau, 2005).

Osteochondropathies are often subject to physically developed people, overweight people, people leading a pseudo-healthy lifestyle (exclusion of certain foods from the diet, abuse of diets).
