Club career

He began his career in his homeland, in Panathinaikos , for which he played for ten years, twice became the champion of Greece with his team and once won the Greek football cup . In the winter of 2006, Basinas moved to the Spanish Mallorca . Also, Birmingham City , Everton , AEK and Olympiacos claimed it. Both in the first and in the second season, Basinas acted successfully, but after the expiration of the contract he did not renew it and left the club. In 2008, the player returned to his homeland, where he began to play for AEK at number 14. The club did not play very well, so Basinas soon moved to England, to Portsmouth . Under coach Tony Adams , who invited Basinas to the club, the player regularly got into the main team, however, when the coach changed, Basinas sat down on the bench. The next coach, Abraham Grant , trusted Basinas with more playing time than his predecessor. As a result, the player helped the club reach the final of the FA Cup , where Portsmouth lost to Chelsea . However, the club soon flew out of the Premier League and Basinas had to look for a new club, which became the French Arles-Avignon .
