Prologue

On a summer evening, in a small suburban horror store, a shopkeeper and an elderly man, dressed in a clown costume with a painted face, communicate with each other. Soon the old man was leaving for the toilet, and at this very time two armed robbers burst into the store and began to threaten the store owner. However, the owner in a clown costume is not at all scared, but rather begins in every way to undermine and provoke the robbers. Suddenly a masked man with a shovel appears, disarms the robbers, after which the clown, the store owner, shoots them in cold blood and still complains that they sprayed his best suit with blood.

The main part

Two young couples travel by car in the American province. Radio reports of the disappearance of young girls, but the company does not attach importance to this fact. Soon she stops near a strange shop by the road in which the past bloody scene unfolded. Having glanced at Captain Spaulding's shop (that was the name of the clown owner of the horror store), an eccentric middle-aged man, they learn from him various legends about killer maniacs, including visiting the gallery of famous murderers he created, where they learn about the local maniac Dr. Satan. The guys are intrigued by the old tale about the killer maniac Doctor Satan, who was caught and hanged , but whose body subsequently mysteriously disappeared. It turns out that the place of the execution of Dr. Satan is not far away, and, despite the girls' discontent, the four are sent for research using the map drawn by Spaulding. Ahead of them is a non-random breakdown of the car, a strange girl getting wet in the rain, whom they agreed to give a ride to, and a visit to the house of an extremely eccentric family, which, after a trifling quarrel, turns out to be a bunch of bloodthirsty sadists who are the cause of the girls' disappearance. Sadists torture and brutally kill the main characters, interrupting only for reprisal with new guests - a police squad and the father of one of the girls. Police officers and the old man are killed, and from the face of the old man one of the sadists makes himself a mask. It turns out that Dr. Satan is alive and continues his terrible experiences. He deals with the main characters, and only one girl manages to escape. She catches the car, and Captain Spaulding is driving. The girl tells him what she needs to see a doctor, and the Captain reassures her that she will definitely take her to the doctor, but one of the sadists protrudes from the back seat and knocks out the girl, and she comes to her senses already at the “doctor” - at Doctor Satan, who brutally kills her.
