Bzyb Range [1] [3] , Bzip Range [3] ( abkh . Bzyҧtәi asykhaӡқә - Bzyptvi Range [4] ; Georgian ბზიფის ქედი - Bzipiskedi ) - a mountain range in Abkhazia , in the western part of the Greater Caucasus . The name of the ridge comes from the river of the same name , washing it from the north and west.

It is composed mainly of limestones , karst phenomena are very widespread. Extends in accordance with the direction of folding parallel to the Main Caucasus Range to the south of the latter. It is delimited from the north and west by the Bzyb river valley, from the east by a small decrease beyond the Himsa mountain ( Amtkel pass) and the Amtkel river valley, which borders it on the Abkhaz ridge . To the south it gradually lowers towards the Black Sea plains. The northern slope of the ridge is steep, the southern slope is flat and divided into separate spurs by river valleys (the Hipsta , Aapsta , Western Gumista , Eastern Gumista , Kelasur rivers ). The length of the ridge is about 50 km.
The highest point is Mount Himsa (3033 m), the second highest is Mount Dzishra (2623 m). There are a number of passes, including the Dow - 1387 m, Himsa - 2454 m, Gudauta. There are many karst wells, mines and caves in the ridge, including Snezhnaya Cave (the fourth in the list of the deepest caves in the world).
Broad-leaved and coniferous forests are located on the slopes, mountain meadows are higher.
