Club

From 1994 to 1995, he played in the amateur regional league for the Orestis team, where he played 25 meetings and scored 3 goals. Then he began his professional career in the 1995/96 season at the Škoda Xanthi club, where he played until 1999, having spent 118 matches during this time and scoring 2 goals. Then he moved to PAOK , where he spent 2 seasons, playing a total of 55 meetings and scoring 1 goal. In the 2000/01 season, along with the club, he won his first trophy - the Cup of Greece .

From 2001 to 2006, he played in Olympiacos , for which he played 77 games. It was in Olympiakos that the player achieved the greatest success in his career, 4 times becoming the champion of Greece , once a vice-champion, twice the winner of the country's Cup and twice his finalist.

In his last season, in one of the strongest clubs in Greece, Venetidis lost his place in the line-up. Not wanting to end his career, Stelios moved to 2006 in “ Larisa ”, where he continues to play to this day, having played 79 games for 4 seasons and scoring 2 goals. With "Larissa" also won the trophy - the 2006/07 Greek Cup.

In the national team

From 1999 to 2004, he played in the main national team of Greece , played 42 matches for her and became, together with the team, the European champion in the 2004 tournament .
