Khodykino is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Elninsky district . The population is 39 inhabitants ( 2007 ) [1] . It is located in the southeastern part of the region, 0.5 km north of Yelny , off the R137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway. It is part of the Elninsky city settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was the site of fierce fighting. The first time the village was occupied by the Nazi forces in July 1941 [2] It was liberated during the Yelninsky operation on August 30, 1941 [3] . Re-occupied on October 5, 1941 . Finally released during the Yelninsky-Dorogobuzh operation on August 30, 1943 .
