Floristic zoning

Floristic zoning - zoning of the Earth's surface into subordinate regions that differ in floristic composition. The largest units of floristic zoning are kingdoms, sub kingdoms, regions, subregions, provinces, districts.

The English botanist Ronald Goode (1896-1992) identified six floristic kingdoms, later this division was specified and detailed by the Soviet botanist Armen Takhtadzhyan (1910-2009). In the most common regionalization system of Takhtadzhyan, 6 floristic kingdoms and 35 regions are distinguished:
