Technically, it is a rifle with a sliding bolt . RT-20 is equipped with an optical sight , there are no open sights. The main purpose of the rifle is the defeat of armored vehicles, this is helped by the powerful cartridge 20 × 110 mm Hispano , which has high striking characteristics. This cartridge is the main advantage of the rifle. Accordingly, the return is very strong.

Description
An interesting feature of this rifle is the bullpup layout. The rifle is single-shot, has a longitudinally-sliding bolt. It has a sufficiently large mass - 19.2 kg and a sufficiently large length - 1330 mm.
Effective firing range of about 1.8 km. In Croatia itself, the RT-20 is classified as a “hand gun”, in addition to its large dimensions and very high destructive power, the rifle has other features. For example, the lack of a store and the difficulty in operation. It’s hard for one soldier to handle her. The optical sight is located on the left relative to the longitudinal axis of the barrel. The RT-20 has a "reactive" recoil compensation system of the recoilless type , similar to anti-tank grenade launchers — powder gases expanding freely exit in the opposite direction through the tube above the barrel. A pistol grip with a trigger that passes into the butt is located in front of the receiver , below under the barrel. Shooting should be conducted from the stop, for convenience, the weapon is equipped with folding bipod.
Given the powerful parameters of the rifle, it is not suitable for defeating enemy infantry. However, on the battlefield, soldiers no longer appear so often without the support of aviation or armored vehicles. It is precisely to defeat the enemy’s armored vehicles and support their own that this “portable gun” is best suited.
