National Selection
About 600 applications were received by the organizers of the national Norwegian selection Melody Grand Prix , 34% of them were submitted by Norwegian composers, the rest came from other countries. However, at the last moment, the selection organizers decided to allow only Norwegian authors to participate.
Two compositions from each semifinal, determined by televoting, reached the final on February 9 in Oslo . Three semi-finals and a round of “second chance” passed, thus, 8 songs were in the final; beat Gold On Be Strong .
