Bernovo is a village in the Staritsky district of the Tver region of Russia, the administrative center of the Bernovsky rural settlement . It is located 25 km northwest of Staritsa , on the banks of the Dark River.

History
In the XIV century - Bernovo, one of the border points between the possessions of Tver and Novgorod , belonged to the Boyars Bernov (hence the name), a trade route lay here. In 1537, Prince Andrei Staritsky stood in Bernovo with an army before going to Novgorod . After 1569, Bernovo entered the oprichnina , at the beginning of the XVII century it was given to the captain Kalitin, and then transferred to the brigadier P.G. Wulf .
His descendant, Ivan Ivanovich Wolfe, visited the estate of Bernovo A.S. Pushkin . Anna Kern was brought up on the Wulfs estate. In 1971, a museum of A. S. Pushkin was opened in Bernovo, in the former manor house of the Wulfs, and in the same year the first regional poetry festival, which became traditional, was held in Bernovo. In 2007, Yoko Ono paid a visit to the village.

Attractions
The main attraction of the village is the estate of the noble family Wulfov , in which the museum of A.S. Pushkin has been working since 1971 .
A monument to the poet has been unveiled at the museum building. On the Parnas hill, near the pool, in the park by the pond, memorial plaques are installed. Bernovo is a member of the Pushkin Ring of the Upper Volga . Every first Sunday of June, a traditional Pushkin poetry festival is held in the village.
Also in the village is the current church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (built in 1687 - 1699 ). The state guard, as identified architectural monuments, also has 12 houses in the central part of the village, a distillery and an outpatient clinic of the Zemstvo hospital.
In Bernov, on September 12, 2018, a monument was erected to Alexander the Second (Tsar Liberator). The monument was completely restored, which was erected by the workers Tsar Liberator Alexander the Second in 1912, and subsequently completely destroyed. The restoration of the monument was carried out by friends and associates of the Museum of Admiral V.A. Kornilov and the Kornilov clan (village Ryasnya , Staritsky district).
