Story
The girl Ginny Gordon father commits suicide. Long before his death, he insured his life, but heirs of suicides do not receive anything under such an agreement.
In desperation, in search of money, Ginny decides to rob a collection truck with three million dollars. She goes to professional criminal Frank Morgan, recently released from prison. He agrees to become a plan implementer and leader. Frank finds his longtime friend Edward "Edd" Black, a former soldier who fought in Vietnam . Black also agrees to help as a gunner and pilot; his friend Giuseppe "Jeepo" Mandini, an Italian auto mechanic who was intimidated by the mafia, to help open the safe; former boxer and collector Al Kitson to be as a driver.
Finally the four get together, and Frank devotes them to the plan. Edd and Frank are in favor, Kitson and Jeepo are against. Ginny arrives, and, falling in love with her, Al agrees, and Jeepo hopes for a miracle. Two weeks later, the team finishes preparations. As a cover, they decide to use the trailer in which they will hide the armored car, and Kitson and Ginny will introduce themselves as newlyweds. Finally, the moment of truth begins: Ginny along with the armored car will reach the ambush, Frank and Edd will simulate an accident, and Jeepo and Kitson will block the road. But the original plan fails because of Black - he accidentally shoots a rifle, and the driver of the car locks the car and the safe, although Morgan manages to injure him. In a shootout, Frank kills a guard and is injured in the shoulder. On the way to the campsite, three (Jeepo, Frank and Black) find a radio beacon in the car. However, Jeepo blocks it by disconnecting the armored car from the car battery. When trying to open the passenger compartment door from the driver’s side, the wounded driver kills Morgan and immediately dies from the return bullet.
Kitson and Black bury the dead at the campsite . For the three days during which the criminals lived in the campsite, the son of one of the guests in every way examines the trailer outside, after which he concludes that there is an armored car in it, and informs his father about it, but he does not believe him. After this, the teenager writes a letter to the police. Meanwhile, police are arresting another friend of Thompson’s armored car driver, John Stoker, who has been unemployed for two years, takes part in demonstrations and raises funds “for the victims of the Salvadoran junta.” The police are confident that he and Thompson are gang members. After some time, the media reported that Stoker, under arrest, commits suicide. Heroes decide to run to the mountains. At this time, Sheriff Cooper and Officer Delauney arrive at the campsite with Freddy Bradford Jr. (the boy who sent the letter to the police). The boy talks about his suspicions, and the police proceeds to search for a trailer. In the mountains, Jeepo decides to escape, but Kitson and Black rush after him. Sitting on a stone, Jeepo is next to a poisonous snake, from the bite of which he dies.
Returning to the trailer, Black is about to open the safe with autogenous . Kitson, who decided to get out of business and leave with Ginny, enters into a fight with him. Suddenly the police and the military appear. Criminals decide to cross the Mexican border beyond the mountains. During the shootout, Black dies. Al and Ginny have difficulty climbing to the top of the cliff. There, Ginny repents of her deeds and apologizes to everyone to whom she caused pain and death. Two decide not to surrender to the police and, holding hands, jump down from the top and when they fall they are smashed to death.
