The Locrian maidens - in Greek mythology, girls who were sent by the priestesses to the temple of Athena in Ilion to atone for a crime committed by Eant Oilid after taking Troy [1] (he tore off the statue of the goddess Cassandra and raped her). The first Locrian maiden bore the name Cleopatra ( ancient-Greek. Κλεοπάτρη )
The Locrika maidens were buried at Cape Traron for a thousand years [2] , this is how much the maidens needed to be sent so that the wrath of the goddess would stop [3] .
They were chosen from the Lokra "hundred families" [4] (the most noble families). According to Strabo, it was already under Persian domination [5] .
