Geography
Komarca is located in the mountains of the same name in the southeast of the province of Salamanca and includes 32 municipalities [1] . Komarca borders on Entresiéras and Salvierrara in the north, Extremadura in the south, and Sierra de Francia in the west.
Architecture
To protect from the harsh climate, houses in the Sierra de Bejar are built very close to each other [2] . The facade of a typical house is characterized by a symmetrical distribution of doors and windows. Houses, as a rule, have one or two floors and are painted with lime. Entrance doors are usually protected by an additional wooden shield, the so-called. batipuerta [3] .
