He also has Italian citizenship. In 2000-2001 he defended the colors of the youth team of Argentina (15 games), who became the world champion. He played for the Argentinean clubs Banfield , Newells Old Boys , Nueva Chicago , Italian Pescara and Odessa Chernomorets . In February 2009 he left the Ukrainian team.
Biography
Jimenez spent most of his early career in the Argentine Banfield . In 2005, he and the team played in the Libertadores Cup . The club reached the quarter-finals of this tournament, losing 3–4 River Plate in the sum of two matches. He also spent two seasons playing in Italy at the Pescara club in Serie B. After spending a year in Italy, Jimenez returned to Argentina due to family problems. He returned the following season, but lost his place at the core of the team. On February 7, 2007, he moved to Nueva Chicago to play Torneo Clausura from Argentina 's Example Division . The team took 15th place and flew to Example B Nacional . Due to relegation, Damian became a free agent.
In July 2007, he was on the Heart of Midlotian screening in Scotland . He impressed the club staff on the pre-season tour of Austria , and he was offered a one-year contract, but failed to agree on the terms of a personal contract. Later that summer he had a viewing at Bristol City . During the preseason with the club in Latvia , Jimenez broke his nose during the match. On August 1, 2007, he signed a contract with the Ukrainian club from Odessa - Chernomorets .
December 18, 2009, the Cypriot club " Alki " announced the signing of Damian Jimenez before the end of the season.
