Metapont (or Metab, Dr. Greek Μεταπόντιον , Μέταβος ) is a character in ancient Greek mythology. The son of Sisyphus , a participant in the Trojan War, an eponym of the city of Metapont [1] . According to another version, the son of Alibant, his grave in Metapont [2] . According to the historian Antiochus, this is the king to whom they brought the prisoner Melanippus (aka Arna ) [3] . King of Metapont. Male Autoliths (or Feano [4] ). He adopted the sons of Arna Eol and Beoth in accordance with the oracle. When they grew up and killed Autolith, Metapont expelled them [5] . The protagonist of the tragedy of Euripides "Melanippe the prisoner."
