Biography
Youth
Jamie was born in the town of Terrell, Texas . His mother was Louise Annette Talley Dixon, and her father was Darrel Bishop, who worked as a broker and changed his name to Shahid Abdullah after adopting Islam . Shortly after birth, Fox was adopted by the foster parents of mother Esther Marie, a nurse and housewife and Marc Talley, a warehouse worker. He sometimes met with his real parents, but they never took part in his upbringing. Fox grew up in the black quarter of Terrell and was brought up in the spirit of Baptism . He often referred to the influence of the adoptive grandmother on his life.
At the insistence of his grandmother, he began taking piano lessons from the age of 5. Jamie worked in church groups in Terrell, then studied classical music in college. He was also interested in football and he seriously thought about the career of a football player in Dallas Cowboys .
Career
Fox changed his name while participating in a stand-up comedy, after he learned that female comedians were invited to speak first. He chose a name for himself in honor of another famous comedian, Red Fox .
Actor's career
After a small role in the show "Rock" Fox joined the cast of the TV series "In lively color" in 1991 . Here he won the love of the audience by many unusual characters, such as the terrible girl Wanda, the fictional boxer Carl "Tooth" Williams; and a dozen Golden Champion T-Dog Jenkins.
His first dramatic role was in Oliver Stone ’s film “ Every Sunday, ” where he played football. He was invited to this role, as he himself was once a football player. His musical career went up after in 2004 he took part in the rapper Kanye West 's song " Slow Jamz ", along with rapper Twist . This song has reached the first line of the hot American Billboard hundreds of hundreds , as well as the third line in a similar British chart . Fox became the fourth artist to win an Oscar, whose album was the best-selling in the United States (the previous three artists: Frank Sinatra , Bing Crosby and Barbara Streisand ). The first song from the album Unpredictable of the same name was a cover version of the song “ Wildflower ” by New Birth .
