Biography

Marc-Vivien Foe declared himself as an outstanding player when he moved in 1997 from the Cameroonian team “Canon Yaounde” to the French “ Lance ”. Even then, he was one of the key players of the Cameroon national team , and in Lance Foy became one of the leaders, which made him interested in such a superclub as Manchester United . But the evil rock pursued the player from the very youth - at 23, Foe breaks his leg and misses the French championship. Disrupted and his transition to the “MJ”. A year later, recovering from injury, he still arrives in England - to play in London " Westham ".

In 2000 , the French "Olympic ( Lyon )" buys it for $ 10 million, and the best years of a great player are associated with this club. Speaking with such outstanding footballers as Sonny Anderson and Steve Marle, Foe becomes an indispensable player in the best years going through Lion. Two years later, along with Cameroon, he won the African Cup and plays at the World Championships in Japan and South Korea (2002). The last period Foe started in the new team - in Manchester City , scoring 9 goals for the year in 35 matches (he always dreamed of playing in Manchester and was extremely happy when City started negotiations on his full transition to the British club).

On the 71st minute of the semi-final match of the Confederations Cup, Mark-Vivien suddenly fell on the lawn. Doctors tried to start his heart, to do artificial respiration, but after 45 minutes the player died due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy [1] .

In the final match of the 2003 Confederations Cup between Cameroon and France, the Cameroonians carried the portrait of Foe onto the field and made three farewell rounds with him after the match. Vivienne posthumously awarded the silver medal of the Confederations Cup.

Team partners and Foe's teammates talked about him as the real soul of the company. He loved African dances and systematically scored their goals. Marc-Vivien was not only a vegetarian , but did not drink at all.
