Moscow conceptualism is a trend that emerged in the unofficial art of the USSR in the early 1970s . The term itself appeared in 1979 thanks to an article by Boris Groys “Moscow Romantic Conceptualism”, published in the “ A - Z ” magazine. This trend is also sometimes referred to as the "Moscow Conceptual School ."
Moscow conceptualism consists of two clearly identified branches: literary-centric (what B. Groys subsequently called “Moscow Romantic Conceptualism”) and analytical .
