Winning songGeorgia Georgia "Bzz ... Bzz .."
Junior Eurovision
← 2007 β€’ 2008 β€’ 2009 β†’

The motto of the competition was the phrase "Fun in the Sun" (from the English. - "Fun in the Sun") [3] , despite the fact that on the day of the competition there were thunderstorms over Limassol. The designer of the stage on which the competition was held was George Papadopoulos [4] : the site was a round island, symbolizing Cyprus, surrounded by water. The scene was nominated for the Live Design Excellence Awards [5]

Several changes were made to the competition rules [6] [7] [8] :

  • not only children but also adults were allowed to be co-authors of competitive songs (provided that all rights to the songs will belong to children);
  • from now on, no more than 6 people can be on the scene (previously there was a limitation of up to 8 people)
  • the winner is determined not only by viewers, but also by the national jury according to the 50:50 principle - both children and adults are on the jury
