He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of Gorky University (1959) and graduate school, after defending his thesis (supervisor G. A. Razuvaev), he headed the chemical laboratory at the Institute of Electrovacuum Devices (Gorky).
In 1972 he defended his doctoral dissertation, after which until 2007 he headed the laboratory of organometallic compounds technology at the Institute of Organometallic Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Gorky).
At the same time, he taught at the Department of Chemistry at Gorky University, and gave a course of lectures on the chemistry of organoelement compounds and the chemistry of materials.
In 1977, he was approved as a professor of organic chemistry.
In December 1991, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science.
Since 2007, the main researcher at the Institute of Organometallic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Nizhny Novgorod.
