Content
History
A separate tank brigade was formed on the basis of the 41st Panzer Division in mid-September 1941.
143 OTB participated in the defensive battle near Moscow. She was surrounded in the Vyazemsky cauldron (October 2-14, 1941) and disbanded in December 1941 after the breakthrough.
Re-formed on the basis of the remnants of the brigade and the remains of the 142nd tank brigade and is included in the 3rd mechanized corps .
Participated in the Rzhev-Vyazem offensive operation of 1942 , held the defense north of the Dukhovschina , participated in the Rzhev-Vyazem offensive operation of 1943 , the Belarusian strategic operation , the Nevelsk-Gorodok offensive operation, liberated Polotsk , Mitava .
On March 1, 1945, it was transformed into the 66th Guards Heavy Self-propelled Artillery Brigade , with the assignment of the honorary title "Guards" and the preservation of the honorary name "Nevelskaya".
