The silver-striped dove [1] , or the silver-backed dove [2] ( lat. Columba jouyi ) is an extinct species of pigeons .

It was a large, larger pigeon ( Columba palumbus ), a pigeon with a very dark with a greenish and purple shimmer of plumage and a bright, silver color, a transverse strip on the back.
Inhabited in the forests of some islands of the Ryukyu archipelago and on the Borodino islands. The last bird on the island of Okinawa was produced in 1904 , and on the Borodino islands in 1936 .
