Etymology of the Hodonym
The twelfth line of Bezymyanka until August 28, 1951 . From 1951 to 1965 - School Street.
September 16, 1965 was renamed in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matrosov ( 1924 - 1943 ). In 1965, Tomashevsky passage (from Cheremshanskaya Street to Karl Marx Avenue) also became part of the street.
